Designing and implementing an event-based integration architecture to support global operations

Our client’s, an US-based MedTech company’s, integration platform done using (Dell) Boomi struggled to keep pace with international growth and rising needs of company operations.
Information was displaced, lacking a clear Rosetta Stone layer to integrate multitudes of systems and apps running in client’s ecosystem. To make it worse, real-time response and resilience weren’t achieved while costs were booming.
Solution
Event-driven integration architecture done in Apache Kafka
Ingemark’s team designed and built a custom event-based integration platform to hit three key business outcomes:
- seamless operations – platform is loosely-coupled, asynchronous, and guarantees SLA of 99.999% through cross-datacenter disaster recover
- access management – with authorization protocols implemented, and allowlists and encryption, platform ensures information is accessed by right employees
- system observability – architecture allows for event recording (search, view and replay those events) and provides system admins with metrics and alerts
